Yesterday, Tuesday May 24th, we celebrated our yearly edition of the Oratory Contest where 18 students from high school participated by writing a essay and then presenting their oratory in front of their peers, school authorities and judges.
The contestants, who had 5 minutes to present their essays, were evaluated in terms of their oral performance as well as in the content and structure of their essay. The students were in charge of selecting the topic within the realm of social media.
From the eighteen participants the following were selected for the podium:
3rd Place Ms. Mónica Berumen Frias with her essay: Woke Culture and Social Media.
2nd Place Ms. Ana Torres Arenas with her essay: Metaverse: Dehumanizing Social Relationships
1st Place Ms. Andrea Rosales Contreras with her essay: How does social media impacts us?
An additional category was created for the students that participated online since they were at home for protocol reasons.
The winner in the online category was Ms. Jessica Bibiana Rodríguez Benitez with her essay: The real job of social media.
We would like to thank our judges Ms. Anna Barraza Ito (former student and winner of the oratory contest) Mrs. Roberta Cárdenas Sánchez from the academic department, Mrs. Rosa Emma Lozano Abraham, language coordinator at preschool and Mrs. Bertha Alicia Mijares Dávila, Language coordinator at elementary school, for lending the time to judge this activity.
